I like these stories and see the similarities to Downton Abbey. Perhaps the Downton Abbey authors were inspired by these stories? I think this is another cryptic story where we don't get all the background information. Did Grace marry Philip? If not, who did she marry? Did she tell Polly about Edward and Iris? I feel like I am reading the abridged version and not the full version.
I liked this story, but thought it ended rather abruptly. I would have liked to have known if Polly and William married, though I suppose some of that will be told in [b:Gracie's Story|231721|Gracie A Love Story|George Burns|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1332235705s/231721.jpg|967218]. Quick read.
This was an interesting book. I thought it, like [b:Grace's Story|404027|The Pirate Queen The Story of Grace O'Malley, Irish Pirate|Alan Gold|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1309288186s/404027.jpg|393402] and [b:Polly's Story|12869193|Polly's Story (Swallowcliffe Hall)|Jennie Walters|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1328652062s/12869193.jpg|18021500], was kind of choppy and cut off somewhat abruptly, though not so much as the others, at the end. I would read other books by this author. They are quick reads and, after watching Downtown Abbey, made me want more from this era.… (plus d'informations)
