I was given this book in exchange for a fair review by LoP in GoodReads.

This is one of the best YA fantasy books I've read this year. Despite the fact I haven't finished reading the first two books in this series, it didn't make this one hard to fathom. It differs itself from the common genre about supernatural beings, particularly werewolves and vampires by elaborating and adding more intricate facts you wouldn’t find in any other books. I just don’t like the heroine being so over dramatic beyond what a normal teenager naturally acts but overall the characters are carefully created that makes them all valuable to the story as it progresses. There are also some minor proofreading that needs to be done since there are quite a few gaps with the story line. (Sorry I can’t help not to notice :))

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who love romantic/fantasy story but adamant to read one since most of it treads on the same story lines. Crest of the Blood Moon differs itself by being able to stand on its own and by creating an all-new different concept. It doesn’t follow the common road every werewolf/vampire novels does which makes our eyes roll most of the time. I can't hardly wait for the next book in this series and I’ll make sure this time I’ve read the first two books before starting.

Okay I'm going to keep this review short and sweet. This book was not for me.

Genevieve's mom dies in a mysterious fire and lands her in Alaska. Immediately, she meets handsome William who is off limits. Even though another girl seems to have claimed William, Genevieve can't help her growing attraction. She learns of the lycans and their supposed princess. Although she believe none of it to be true. everyone seems certain that she is the lycan princess.

Genevieve was not a likable characer, which made this book hard to digest. Even if I don't like a character, I have to be able to understand where he or she is coming from-I didn't get that in this book. Genevieve is a brat. She yells when she doesn't get her way and is extremely disrespectful to her aunt. Also she makes AWFUL choices. But that's another story.

I found the story hard to get through as well. So we go to Alaska and learn that there is a family of werewolves looking for their princess, not only that but there is a vampire. Oh and I'm pretty sure that there are hints of a love triangle. Been there. Done that.

If you are a fan of Twilight, I say go for it but this book was not for me. This book had its moments and even a twist that I did not foresee, but that did not make up for the rest of the novel.

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Michelle L. Olson:

After Robin left me completely wanting more at the conclusion of Book #1, Ties to the Blood Moon, I couldn't help but dive into Shadow of the Blood Moon immediately.

Picking up right where Ties to the Blood Moon left off, Gen and gang are on a mission to set things right within the supernatural community and fulfill her destiny as the Adlet Princess, despite all of the changes in plan that took place during book #1 (you're just going to have to read it to find out what I'm talking about). :)

Traveling overseas, William and Gen are on their way to a meeting with the head vampire when all hell breaks loose. Dishonesty, distrust, discord and mayhem ensue, and it makes for one heck of a read.

Like book #1, there were plenty of twists and turns to keep me flipping pages frantically to find out what would happen next. Like in book #1 as well, the characters were well developed and force the reader to feel for them, one way or another. Unfortunately, my feelings toward Gen in this installment were not very positive. She was too short tempered, too whiny, and too selfish. It did however lend to the overall storyline, and I can only hope that given what her attitude costs her in this book, she'll learn...

Robin leaves us hanging at the end of this book as well and I was utterly frustrated that book #3 won't be out until around Halloween.

My dislike for Gen aside, LITERAL ADDICTION gives Shadow of the Blood Moon 4 Skulls for the story, the intrigue, and the growth of the supporting cast.
