A psychohistory of Hitler.

It's uncertain business, trying to psychoanalyze the dead, especially a character so complex and neurotic as Hitler. I learned a lot from this book, particularly about the special type of madness that those in power seem to have, but some bits of analysis just seem to be on too shaky ground to be taken seriously. This Freudian talk of oral and anal stages is a bit out of place in more serious history - but it makes for fascinating reading.

This is a book that should be read with one or more other biographies of Hitler at hand. It is strong on Hitler's motivations. Much of it the conclusions are probably incorrect. A minor contribution to the motivations of Hitler. Much more is to be explained.
