Love triangles are a tough go because the onus on the author is to present a divergent set of relationships centered around a single protagonist and to do it realistically. The problem with this novel is that not only does the author not get this set of divergent relationships right, she doesn't get any of them right.

Light, Coming Back features a 60ish year old woman married to a crotchety 85ish year old man. Said woman sexually awakens in an unexpected way when she falls for a 30ish year old flower girl. The problem here isn't so much due to the age differences as it is to the fact the some hollow writing never does anything to explain our heroine's attraction to her old husband or to her young lover. That's a major flaw in a book that is supposed to be half emotional reflection and half emotional epiphany. Better luck next time.… (plus d'informations)
