It may just be more than you want to know about Chicago unless you have lived there or have some tie to Chicago. But, to me as a lifelong Chicagoan, it's fascinating. Chicago does have quite a colorful history. The mayors alone are worth the price of admission. Do you suppose we will get one of Richard M Daley's kids as mayor someday and the hot-headed dynasty will continue?
It certainly isn't a typical book about the history of some place or time. But, for a history and compilation of photos and maps for back up it is unique for Chicago interested folks. It is a good basis and foundation for exploring what makes Chicago interesting.
I actually have purchased two copies of the book. The second to replace the first copy loaned to someone whose identity has slipped my mind. If you are the "someone" and are reading this, I hope that your conscience hurts.… (plus d'informations)
