I've been hiking and backpacking for over fifty years and I learned a lot from this book. I read most of it, but you don't have to. The author recommends getting the basics, then skipping around to the stuff you need to know.

I liked reading this book, a lot of new ideas and resources about race caring and how to manage feet related injuries and difficulties. I read some chapters whole and browsed some chapters. I think I would keep this mostly as a reference to read again and again when needed.

One part of the book that is probably a must for every running is dealing with blisters and how to tape blisters :-). I would recommend this book as whole, and taping and blister management chapters in particular.

An excellent and comprehensive reference for caring for overworked feet. Continually updated through the years, it contains a lot of material on prevention of injury as well as treatment options. Instead of just giving you a suggestion, the author also includes brand names and how to buy the items he's recommending. Nice touch. How-tos and anecdotes of his own experiences round things out. As a new distance/fitness walker, I've found this book a valuable source of information for things I never knew could happen to my feet. Recommended!… (plus d'informations)
