I enjoyed this clean christian romance. I voluntarily chose to review it. I've given it a 4.7* rating. Lots of conflicts and action in this. What with children and pets to stir up mischief, and past relationships to stir it up some more, there was humor and sorrow to to level it out. There was just a lot going on in this story, kind of like life is. I'm looking forward to more of this author's work.

Lana's tired of being someone she isn't for a man who doesn't appreciate it. She relocates to Rios Azules, Texas and returns to nursing. One of her patients is Amaro de la Vega, whose grandson, Arturo, is a football star.

Lana has to deal with her past disappointments--it seems like every time she is about to get a family, something happens and she's left out in the cold. Arturo has to deal with his distance from God and his desire to play football.

I have to admit, I kept expecting there to be a career-ending injury for Arturo as part of the plot. (That didn't happen in the way I thought it might and it was more of a dénouement since they'd already decided to work out their lives together.

Though it's not gone into in much detail, apparently Lana did have sex with Michael while they were dating/engaged, even though she would have preferred to wait until they were married. She claims she gave in to him because she loved him (or at least thought she did at the time). It's obvious that she learned from her mistake, but I wish the author hadn't added that detail to Lana's character.

This mystery that kept my attention throughout even though I was unsure in the beginning. Interesting characters weave in the storyline keeping you guessing who is the perpetrator.
