Un tour de force ... an intensely thought-provoking book, intricate and elegant in theological thinking, one that opens eyes to "communicative theism".

I really tried to finish this, but after about 80% of the book, I found myself skimming to the end.
This book needed an good editor. It was incredibly repetitive. It tried so hard to be "relevant" to the changing tides of 21st century philosophy, but failed, badly. The author was constantly building "straw men" on either side of an issue and then happily finding the "goldilocks" sweet spot in the middle, that only he was able to articulate as "the cononical/linguistic" answer.
I found this book to be very frustrating, (repetitive, repetitive and again, repetitive) and overall I would rate it a complete waste of my time.… (plus d'informations)

Generally speaking, students, theologians, pastors, and church leaders are well-trained in the task of biblical exegesis. Where many fall short, however, is in the area of cultural exegesis—reading and interpreting the texts and trends produced by our culture, which can have a profound influence on the way we understand the world and practice our faith. Anyone interested in the intersection of Christianity and culture needs to be able to do "everyday theology," that is, to think theologically about our cultural environment and pass it through the grid of Scripture, in order to respond faithfully as Christian disciples.… (plus d'informations)
