Courte biographie
Paul G. Tremblay (born June 30, 1971) is an American author and editor of contemporary horror, dark fantasy, and science fiction. He is also a juror for the Shirley Jackson Awards.

Tremblay was born in Aurora, Colorado, and raised in Massachusetts. He attended Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island, receiving his bachelor's degree in 1993. He obtained his master's degree in mathematics from the University of Vermont in 1995.

In summers between college, Tremblay worked at the Parker Brothers factory in Salem, Massachusetts, primarily in the warehouse and assembly lines. After graduation, he began teaching high school mathematics and coaching junior varsity basketball at a private school outside Boston, Massachusetts called Saint Sebastian’s School, where he still teaches today.

In 2015, Focus Features optioned his novel A Head Full of Ghosts. It is in development with Team Downey (Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey) and Allegiance Theater (Dan Dubiecki) as producers. FilmNation acquired the rights to The Cabin at the End of the World in April 2018, before its publication.

Wow! I’m not sure why this book has such terrible reviews. I guess if you go into reading this expecting a certain type of story you might be left frustrated but I had zero expectations and zero knowledge of this author. I grabbed this book from the store one day because I forgot all my others at home and needed something to read.
On the surface, this is a sci-fi/horror/thriller...but underneath it is an extremely emotional story. I try really hard not to give anything away in my reviews so excuse the vagueness but this story was about relationships, family dynamics, love, sacrifice, spirituality. It deals with questions and situations that seem impossible to answer. And I love how you see so many different viewpoints. There is a lot that gets left unanswered, which usually irritates me, but it works here.
I will be seeking out this author again. This was an excellent book.

I’ve read his narcoleptic detective books and enjoyed them but this was a cut above. Does exactly what the best horror books do, by exposing some of the darkness in the real world, while at the same time it was full of little Easter eggs for devoted horror fans. Well done… and more than a bit disturbing

a fun read . the noir language is a bit strained at times, but the plot is interesting and the protagonist is one of a kind. A whole new adventure in the unreliable narrator field, as , due to his narcolepsy, the detective is often unsure of what happened , are things true or hallucinations, what has he told the police, what have others told him.

Well done mystery with a bit of horror, both psychological, and perhaps, supernatural. The only thing I did t enjoy was some of the dialogue between the kids in the story… the constant use of words like chirps and bardo felt like a forced effort to make it seem like there was some insight into kids lives. The rest of the behavior of the kids felt natural a d true to life
