This is an excellent collection, edited by Andrew S. Trees, of the documents that lay the foundation of the United States, including the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, the Northwest Ordinance establishing the territory NW of the Ohio River, and the inaugural addresses of the first four Presidents of the United States, as well as George Washington's farewell address, among other documents. I'd never read any of these documents but was only dimly aware of their existence. Written in the florid English of their time and place, they were somewhat arduous but enlightening reading. After finishing the book during a four-hour visit to the mall food court and the library, I donated it to the library for its semiannual book sale in June, 2019, by dropping it into a blue bin.… (plus d'informations)

I enjoyed the fast pace of this book and the story of the members ( and wanna-be members of the "club". A look into the lives of the rich and privileged that didn't get too "deep", but provided just enough plot and character development to get the reader hooked.

In Decoding Love, Andrew trees cites scientific studies to challenge our notions of the romantic storyline-that we simply meet someone, fall in love, then live happily ever after. Results from studies in game theory, economics, evolutionary psychology and others, paint a shocking picture of why and how men and women think and act in the courtship phase of their interaction.

Decoding Love, targets the young single who is looking for a relationship with the opposite sex, and provides enlightening knowledge of the needs and motivations of men and women when searching for a mate.

I enjoyed the book because I can better understand the needs of the opposite sex, and as as result, better gauge my success and react to the competitive dating world.

I would recommend this book to any young single who wants to know the scientific facts behind the sexual dynamics in human relationships without being bogged down by statistics or dry facts. Trees writes his book in an engaging casual tone and presents just the relevant amount of information to keep the reader entertained. 4 STARS.

This book is set at an expensive private high school in New York City. Mostly the richest kids are here; kids who's parents are able to buy their kids' way into, not only high school, but also Ivy League Colleges. John Spencer is an English teacher teaching a class focusing on Jane Austen. He has a small group of kids in his class, two who really stand out for him: Laura, smart girl, but not rich like most of the other kids; and Caitlyn, pretty, popular, rich, and smart. When the two girls compete in an essay writing contest, things get very heated and they accuse each other of plagiarism. When John finds that one of them did, in fact, plagiarize, he must figure out what to do.

I thought this was good. It really picked up in the second half once the plagiarism accusations were out there. I thought about upping the rating slightly after the second half, but I decided to leave it where it is. It was definitely interesting to read about the ethics of this kind of thing, really not even just the plagiarism, but the rich parents trying to buy their kids' ways into schools and such. The author is a teacher at a private school, so I assume some of this may have come from real life situations.
