This is a book that you will look at over and over because it has so much information and practical advise for anyone interested in coronary heart disease and the treatment and lifestyle changes needed in order to recover and live a long full life. This book covers diet, exercise, eating healthy including healthy recipes that taste good. The book is very easy to read and has everything covered. If someone you love has had a heart attack and you want to get a book that will be helpful then this book would be very helpful. Most everyone can benefit from the advice in this book as well. There so much to be said about being active and managing stress and diet. It's essential to a long healthy life. I am so glad that I got the chance to read this book and I know I will be following the advice and tips that I know will benefit me.
This book was well worth reading.

This book was written for heart patients, or those who just want to have healthier hearts. For those in the US, you will notice that it was written for a UK audience. Thus, the names for medical professionals are different than we are used to. Also, there are other minor differences in language usage and spelling. However, these are not difficult to get past and the information in the book is relevant no matter which side of the pond you reside on.

I found this book to be well-written and researched. There is a bit of something for everyone here. If you are a heart patient, or going to have heart surgery, there is information useful to you. There are recipes that are good for heart health for those who just want to be healthier. There are useful exercises and tips for those who have had a heart attack, or surgery. Exercises are given on a scale from easy to more difficult, so that you can develop strength or recover after a “heart event.” The things you are likely to hear from a doctor are explained so that you will be more informed during your visits. There is a ton of background information on how the heart works and the things that can go wrong. Prevention is also emphasized so that you can make more healthy choices.

Other aspects of heart health that are covered in this book include stress, emotional health, exercise, diet, nutrition, assessing your risk of heart disease, tips for prevention, and more. This is a good reference book to have in the home.

All aspects of heart health were covered. I was impressed with the completeness of the text, as well as the ease of understanding what can be a very complex subject. It is written so that a general audience can understand the concepts related to heart health; you won’t need a medical degree to decipher the text! I highly recommend it to anyone interested in maintaining their health, cardiac and otherwise.

I enjoyed the information in this book. It gives the reader the tools to improve your cardiovacular health, recipes and exercises. It is perfect for someone like myself that is learning so much more about heart health. Great book to give as a gift for someone that has learned they have heart issues or has suffered a heart attack.
