The story of a little princess who befriends a swan and is saddened when the swan disappears, little does she know that a little prince used to be the swan she adored so much. Illustrated in color throughout by famed Icelandic artist Muggur (Gudmund Thorsteinsson). The story was originally written in 1921 for the artist's niece but was only published posthumously in 1942. It was to become the most popular children's story in Iceland and remains in print.
