W. Ian Thomas was born in London, England. At the age of twelve, he was invited by a friend to spend a week at a Christian camp for boys that was a part of the ministry of the Crusaders Union. Upon hearing the gospel clearly explained, Ian gladly accepted Christ as his Savior and Lord. Later, while afficher plus preparing for the possibility of becoming a missionary doctor, Ian answered the call to be an evangelist and ministered Christ throughout the British Isles. Six years later, he served his country as an army officer in World War II. On his release from the military and with deep concern for the effect of the war years on the youth, in 1947, Ian established a Christian Youth Centre at Capernwray Hall. He was soon visited by British and other nationalities, including Germans, who became true Christians and called themselves "Torchbearers." There are now twenty-five Torchbearers Centres and Bible Schools worldwide. afficher moins

The Saving Life of Christ par Major W. Ian Thomas

The emphasis of this book is something that is urgently needed in this country today and indeed in every area where the message of saving faith in Christ is made known. To so many people, the Lord is in danger of being no more than a patron of our systematic theology instead of the Christ who is our life. There is such a tendency to departmentalize Christian living and to regard our devotions as one department and then to live for the rest of our times almost as religious pagans. This book strikes home at that attitude and presents to us the triumphant life of our risen Lord indwelling us by His Spirit as the one vital essential for Christian living.… (plus d'informations)
