Chances are you’ve heard that our world is different than any other known in the universe. But did you know that’s because animals make it so? No? Well, where else do birds fly in the sky, fish swim in the sea, and oodles of other animals walk, run, and crawl over the land? Our world is animals’ only known romping and stomping ground. What’s more, as animals romp, stomp, tromp, eat, poop, and fart—and work for people—they are changing the world as we know it right under our noses. Sound far-fetched? Animals have changed the world since they first set foot, paw, and claw on Earth. Long ago, the ancient ancestors of animals and all living things, microbes called bacteria, created an atmosphere on Earth that allowed life to thrive and evolve into the animals, plants, and people you know today. Get set to discover all this and more in my book of animals that changed the world.… (plus d'informations)

If bizarre facts and natural occurrences that happen around the world are your fancy, then this is your book. There are several natural wonders that are not as well known, but nonetheless interesting in this book. Kids at a reading age to high school students would enjoy this book. It has an energetic appeal to it that almost makes you want to read it. This book would be a good accent to what can be sometimes boring science materials.

This is a VERY detailed book on how baseball works. Part science, part history, this book gives you all the information that you need to know about how to play the game. I would have liked had flipped the last two pages (how the game is played) flipped to the front of the book but that is a minor issue. Players such as Barry Bonds are mentioned in the book but the steriod issue is addressed and how Barry's home run chase can be used as a teaching tool. That alone is impressive.
