Claire Thomas is an unabashed food enthusiast. She works as a nationally recognized commercial director, food photographer, and writer. Courte biographie: Claire Thomas has published short stories in various journals, including Meanjin, Island, Overland and Australian Short Stories. She has an Honours degree in English and art history from the University of Melbourne where she is currently undertaking a PhD on George Eliot, Henry James and nineteenth-century travel writing.

When not writing or studying, Claire has travelled extensively — most recently to Europe on a scholarship to research her second novel — and worked as a bookseller, actor, university tutor, theatre usher, soap opera story-liner, gallery attendant and media monitor. She lives in Melbourne with her husband and baby daughter.

Fugitive Blue is her first novel.
