Gathering Clouds: The Freeman Files Series: Book 23 by Ted Tayler

October 2012; John Crees and Mandy Howard are found battered to death in their bed by John's Boss. Gus takes on the cold case digging deep into the brutal death of these two bikers. Seems he has upset some (people) but his will not deter him, he will fight to find the answers.

The story moves at a fast pace with engaging dialog and attention to detail. I was brought deep into Gus's world. Likable characters, round out this fantastic (procedural) crime story. I recommend Gathering Clouds to all.… (plus d'informations)

"Matt Archer had a part-time job delivering takeaways for the Jade Garden restaurant. In February 2009 Matt was lured to Blades Farm and someone bludgeoned him to death. Who wanted Matt dead, and why? The original investigation failed to find a motive, or a weapon. Was it still red herring season? Gus is at his best when faced with a seemingly impossible puzzle."

In this new installment of the Freeman File's Gus and his associates are investigating a cold case involving a Chinese Restaurant and a dead delivery driver. With likable characters, engaging dialog and attention to detail, had me engrossed from the start. A great procedural (British) crime story that had me hooked from the first page.

Overall I found Red Herring Season: The Freeman Files Series: Book 22 very enjoyable. I highly recommend to those who like a great (procedural) crime story. I look forward to the next (Book) in this series.

Whispered Truths: The Freeman Files Series - Book 19 by Ted Tayler

In 2005 Mark Fennell and his partner Helen Roker moved to Chippenham. Six months later Mark is found shot to death in his home. Nine months later Helen is found dead in her bath, thought to be a suicide. It seems this could be related to a caravan site in Burnham-on-Sea, a resort not too far from Chippenham. Gus Freeman and team open the case in 2018.

Gus and team are on the case things slowly begin to unravel. Seems Helen's death was not a suicide. With a dedicated team, working non-stop, intense investigating, they are closing in on the murders. And what they find will be shocking.

A fast paced engaging murder/mystery. With classic who-done-it feel and in depth investigating, I was hooked from the first page, until the last. Overall I found Whispered Truths: The Freeman Files Series - Book 19 very enjoyable. I highly recommend to those who like a good crime/mystery.
