S. Talalaj

What a curious book. And what curious plants. It seems to be a family effort by Prof S Talalaj who has had a long interest in odd plants. A lot of them seem to be poisonous or have hallucinogenic properties. But certainly not all. I actually found it quite fascinating although I was aware of many of the plants prior to reading this. He ranges across fungi, lichens, flowering plants and trees...and seems to have a world-wide interest. The writing style is a little stilted...though clear enough ...as though English is not the first language...and that may be so. The illustrations are reasonable ...though not great. But certainly for most of the plants enough to give one a good idea. Most are photographs but some are paintings/drawings. I give it 3 stars.… (plus d'informations)
