This was a cute and informational book about how different animals protect their offspring from predators or harmful things. I think it is a good book for kids and would be great for 1-3rd grade students. I am not sure if I would have this in my future class because the animals it used for examples arent very well known animals amongst children. I think it would be beneficial to have an informational book where the students are at least a little familiar with the animals

This book was really cute and showed how animal parents protect their babies from predators in a fun and child-friendly way. At the back, it featured a more academic description of what they do to protect their young, which I appreciated. This would be a great opening for talking about the food chain, predators and prey, defense mechanisms, and other animal studies. This would be appropriate for younger grades.

Story follows an armadillo from birth to motherhood, sharing a great deal of information about the animal in the process. Large watercolor illustrations depict the various landscapes of the journey. Two page appendix provides additional information about armadillos.

With a simple text and vivid full-color photographs, this book shows children a wide range of nature's exquisite designs. It invites children to open their eyes and look for patterns in water and on land, in the air and on the ground, and in their own neighborhoods.
