A good biography of a prickly character, who often over-centralised his actions. A good scientist he was very useful in moving towards the use of radar on the battlefield by his invention of the oscilloscope for counter battery artillery fire. He was also involved in he invention of the cathode ray tube. Loath to commit Canada's army piecemeal to action, he held out strongly for unified control. he was also loathed for his mishandling of Canada's infrastructure projects during the Depression.
