The author, Conrad, wrote this book after doing his own research on a trip to Scotland. A very informative book with a lot of pictures that truly show the culture of Scotland. The book includes information on the people, the government, religion, leisure and the land. A handy tool in the back of the book is an easy to read timeline and a section of Fast Facts. A good resource book, but a little dry for the average middle school reader.
