This is basically part of the kids' subgenre of "watch the fragile item bounce and fall around and almost but not break and then something cute happens at the end," but it seems like an especially good example because it has obviously taken root in my son's head, since he has gotten interested in videos of baby birds being born and in pretending we're bluebirds hiding in our eggshell when we cuddle up in bed in the morning and suchlike.

I actually decided to read this one b/c the artwork on the inside pages reminded me of jammer stars on helmets (weird I know). Of course the book had nothing to do with roller derby but it was still very cute. Loved the zebra cameo!
