This paperback is not a pictorial history! At best it is a paperback filled with some interesting random pictures and explanation regarding them and vehicles color scheme with no explanation regarding conclusions contained in the paperback. There is an attempt to give a brief high-level overview of what the SS divisions were doing since their inception to end of WW2. The paperback is inaccurate in its reporting of the "Malmedy Massacre" and claims that the Waffen SS "aided" the Holocaust. Would never use this paperback as source materiel or as a reference.… (plus d'informations)

This traces the development of the SBD dive bomber up to and through World War II. Though the changes in the SBD were limited, there really is a lack of text. Lots of black and white pictures, which are valuable and the usual range of side view color plates, but no three view color pics.

The writing style of this book is not in depth and dry. But that is not what is promised. The purpose of the book is to show previously unpublished SS photos. They are placed in chronological order showing SS motorized units. Though all the pictures are not clear; they are authentic and very interesting. And contains great illustrations of vehicles and uniforms. Purchase the book for the pictures.
