This is the story of the extraordinary life of Therese Neumann who first recieved the sacred stigmata in 1926. Since 1926 a host of publication has appeared, representing the most divergent positions. Far too many confused accounts. This book aims to set the record straight.

1838 The Visions of Therese Neumann, by Johannes Steiner (read 20 Mar 1984) This is an account of Therese Neumann's visions. It is written uncritically, and I really did not find it too interesting. Though it does seem that the visions have authentic-appearing aspects. But the book makes no attempt to tell whether there is anything about the visions which shows they are historically accurate.

1843 Theresa Neumann: A Portrait Based on Authentic Accounts, Journals and Documents, by Johannes Steiner (read 4 Apr 1984) This is not a well written book but it does kind of haphazardly try at times to answer Hilda Graef's book on Theresa Neumann. But its approach is so different, and it does not at all seek to answer Father Siwek's book--there is not even a mention of it. The book does not pretend to be scholarly or objective.
