In Leopards readers are introduced to the Leopard and find out just a few facts about the smallest wild cat in the big cat species family. It is very basic and lets the reader know that some cats are all black with spots and they like to sleep in trees and sometimes eat in a tree. It has a glossary and an index and Online Resources for further research. It also includes a page to show how much a leopard weighs and how long they are. I would recommend this for collections looking for a very basic introduction to Leopards. I would say it would be an optional purchase. The photographs are very clear and colorful.… (plus d'informations)

This is an informational book about penguins. It has a table of contents and a glossary. One other cool feature is that students can click on any word and it will tell them the word and definition. Students can not listen to this book like they can with other books on getepic. The book focuses on teaching about penguins' bodies, penguins' habitat, what they eat, and their life cycle. It teaches students that not all penguins live on ice but some live on warm beaches. Something interesting about this book is towards the end it gives "Quick Stats" about penguins. For example, the smallest penguin size is a little taller than a basketball. Those are the little blue penguins that are 12 inches tall. I could use this book in a reading small group to integrate science.… (plus d'informations)

The Manx cat is a very unique cat. One unique feature is they do not have a tail or they have a stub for a tail. A Manx cat without a tail is called a rumpy. If they have a small tail they are called rumpy risers. They are very smart and can open cabinets easily as well as doors. They are good jumpers and they have small short legs that are strong. The Manx cat does not meow, but it does make a chirping noise. The book also describes what is needed to care for this type of cat as well as their personality and where their origins are located. There are glossary terms in bold throughout the book that you can use the glossary in the back to find out what they mean. I would recommend this for any collection looking for an introduction to the Manx cat. There is an index and a glossary in the back and the photographs are bright and colorful.… (plus d'informations)

What is a zebra? Where do they live? What do they eat? Learn the answers to these and other questions about this savanna animal.
This title is recommended if you need zebra books for younger researchers. It is a good first reference book. Children can learn how to use a table of contents, index and glossary. There is very little information provided about the zebra itself. It is very basic.
