May We Shed These Human Bodies par Amber Sparks
Interesting and I'm glad I read the collection. I found the effectiveness of the story-telling varied quite a bit, which is not uncommon. The other 5* reviews articulate the best parts better than I could.

This is a wonderful collection of short stories, each one different from the other. From clever stories like In Which Athena Designs a Video Game with the Express Purpose of Trolling her father to the poignant Mildly Unhappy, with Moments of Joy, where a woman loses her best friend and doesn't understand why, Sparks uses fairy tales, references to mythology or supernatural elements in her writing. I don't really like short stories, but I knew that going in so I'm not going to mess up the rating for others. I would rate it 2 stars, some of the stories were really great, most were a miss for me.
I really enjoyed this collection of short stories, with the exception of the longest one which gives the book its title. Most of the tales I found thoughtful, insightful, and intriguing. A good collection, although I was think the author is most masterful with the briefer of the short stories.
