The Jewelry Recipe Book is an instructional text with exciting jewelry designs. This title provides innovative ways to use everyday objects to produce artistic jewelry. The instructions are delivered in a recipe concept, creating a piece of jewelry by using a list of "ingredients" to create a replica of the original. The images and the associated stepped directions are very helpful and the created items attractive and wearable. Some beading technique instructions are minimal, previous basic techniques are assumed. Using bobby pins, nail polish, hardware objects, and other household items Soriano delivers recipes easy to replicate and offers suggestions for variations. In this way someone could adapt the originals to create innovative jewelry.[b:The Jewelry Recipe Book: Transforming Ordinary Materials into Stylish and Distinctive Earrings, Bracelets, Necklaces, and Pins|22750505|The Jewelry Recipe Book Transforming Ordinary Materials into Stylish and Distinctive Earrings, Bracelets, Necklaces, and Pins|Nancy Soriano|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1423486546s/22750505.jpg|42295768]… (plus d'informations)

Clearly laid out, well-photographed. Very nice, and adaptable to whatever you might want to make.

The usual disclaimer: I received this book via Netgalley for review.

I was amazed at the detail at the beginning of the book, including how to choose the right jewelry for your body shape. I learned quite a few things - did you know you could dye beads or other pieces? And I got a few ideas - glue buttons to earring posts and to rings for unique jewelry statements. And who would think of using pieces of candy for earrings, necklaces or hairpins?
I think it would have been better in the basics to have step by step photos to illustrate the instructions. There are some techniques that would be better to learn by seeing rather than reading.
Lots to inspire!

Fun, easy to use book of "recipes" for making jewelry. Interesting use of ordinary items, too, like pine cones and t-shirts.
