When Wiggy discovers a spell to make children fly in her copy of The Second Book of Spells, the little witch sets out for the woods in order to gather the berries she will need to create the necessary potion. Heedless of her mother's warning about securing her broomstick once she reaches the woods, Wiggy finds herself lost and without transport, after a period of picking berries. Frightened and alone, she finds that the local animals are all too busy with their own tasks to aid her. But then the wind, sent by her mother, shows her the way...

Originally published in the UK, this sweet little picture-book presents an engagingly witchy tale, one that is paired with cute and colorful artwork by Caroline Church. I don't know that Little Witch, which is currently out-of-print, and which I might never have discovered if I wasn't looking for more titles to review for my "witchy-witches" project, is ever going to be a particular favorite of mine. That said, I did find it moderately entertaining, and would recommend it for younger children who enjoy sweet, rather than scary witch stories.… (plus d'informations)
