James Nicholson and Samuel Z. Arkoff co-founded AIP and became the leading producers of low-budget drive-in movies, a fertile market ignored by the down-sizing major studios. This book combines excerpts from press kits, cast lists, suggested publicity stunts, excerpted speeches, occasional bridge notes, and other bits of public and in-house material. A lot can be scanned or skipped...you'll never remember most of it anyway. The photos are a welcome addition, short plot descriptions would've been nice since many of these titles are truly obscure. The bits that are left are interesting. Don't know if it's worth the retail price to a general reader for this scrapbook approach to AIP history which expends a lot of time on minutae. Generally, I am satisfied but because I will dock it one star.… (plus d'informations)
