Beyond Birdwatching: More Than There Is to Know… par Ben Sill
The third parody of birding and birders from these authors, the current volume is in the form of a birding magazine. It includes not only notes on seldom-seen birds, but also articles, ads, and editorials. Not a sleek as the previous two, but it's still pretty funny.
This is a hilarious little send-up of field guides to birds and, though probably funnier for those with experience using field guides, is still accessible to everyone. In addition to very nicely rendered illustrations of such birds as the Mangrove Penguin (Tuxedo verdantus) and the Greater Noxious Grossbird (Incredibilus disgustus), the authors also include helpful charts showing the correct assembly of bird parts, nesting success of the Nearsighted Bat Owl (the news isn't good, I'm afraid), and the feather count of the Rear-Tailed Evader to name a few.… (plus d'informations)
The first of two similar books. Their styles are similar, with similarly beautiful and funny illustrations and the same affectionate fun poked at birding manuals.
Not as good as the first guide, but still very enjoyable.
