I picked this up for just $4.95 at the visitor center gift shop at the Badlands, and it was certainly worth every penny, at least. This is a great swift history of the park from a bureaucratic standpoint and illuminates some of the early history of the National Park System in general. The end of the book also provides information on how the park roads were designed, something my husband and I had been curious about as we toured the park.
