I read the first book in this series, {Murder Board} and really liked the writing style of the author as well as the characters, so was anxious to read book 2. I liked that he brought a character from the first book back by hiring Kristen Barnes. She had partnered up with the character of Detective Mike Kelly in the first book. It didn't take as long to recognize and get into the bones of the plot as it did the first book and I have to say it was a compelling and exciting ride. It features and focuses more on organized crime in Boston than the first one did. I'm not a big fan of mafia stories but since reading the first book I was a fan of the character of Michael Kelly and his team of investigators. I probably will, at some point, read book #3. The only really "iffy" thing I can say about the story was the questionable planting of the undercover cop. It was a little unbelievable...but I won't go into the "why" to keep from giving too much away.… (plus d'informations)

I have read many books by this author and enjoyed them all. In DRIFT, Rachel Hatch, a female Jack Reacher begins her series as a drifter and ex-MP investigator. Here, she returns to her hometown after 15 yrs. to investigate the death of her twin sister, who was found after floating in the river for several days. Rachel partners with the town sheriff and together they fight tough guys who try to stop them from solving the murder. There are many twists and turns along the way, but Racheal is out for vengeance. I'd recommend DRIFT to anyone interested in a good mystery and suspense and who done it story.… (plus d'informations)

The first Rachel Hatch novel and a very good start to the series. It catches your attention from the start. Ex special ops agent, medically discharged from service, rights wrongs with or without the law. Solved her twin sister murder while becoming part of her family again.
