Marjorie Weinman Sharmat was born Marjorie Weinman in Portland, Maine on November 12, 1928. She received a degree in merchandising from Westbrook Junior College in 1948. She briefly worked at a department store, before taking a position in the Circulation Department at the Yale University Library afficher plus in 1951. She transferred to the circulation staff at the Yale Law Library in 1954. She wrote more than 130 books for children and young adults during her lifetime. Her first children's book, Rex, was published in 1967. Her other books included the Nate the Great series; the Olivia Sharp, Agent for Secrets series written with her husband Mitchell Sharmat; The Kids of the Bus series written with her son Andrew Sharmat; I Saw Him First; and Goodnight Andrew; Goodnight Craig. Nate the Great and the Crunchy Christmas (#20) par Marjorie Weinman Sharmat
Annie's dog is unhappy. When Fang is unhappy, everyone is unhappy. Especially Nate the Great. So Nate agrees to sniff out Fang's mysteriously missing Christmas mail. It's cold and snowy. But Nate the Great and his dog, Sludge, will try to solve this holiday case in time for Fang to have a crunchy, munchy Christmas.
It's two o'clock in the morning when the telephone rings and Nate the Great learns that Rosamond's pillowcase is missing. Outside, it is damp, dark, and dreary, but a good (yawning) sleuth knows that the hunt must go on. Can Nate find the missing case before his bedroom slippers wear out?
Nate the Great doesn't especially want to go to a birthday party for Annie's ferocious dog, Fang. But he can't resist a mystery--and when Annie loses her house key and can't get inside to set up the party, Nate and his trusty dog, Sludge, are hot on the trail. Their only clue is a mysterious poem written by Annie's friend, Rosamond. But nothing is too tough for Nate the Great--not even Fang!
