Rachel's Day in the Garden is an imaginary adventure story to help children engage and imitate Yoga poses. It is fictional so enjoy the ideas and help your children understand the yoga "routine" with a story they can understand. Of course this is a fun book and the cartoon images suggest the point is to relate to young learners and not teach non-fiction gardening. The poses are so great and children will have so much fun pretending along with this book.

I volunteer in a daycare and the mom will love getting this book to use with the children as she is super busy and can rely on this story for some yoga time where it is all planned for her. I know they all love yoga and this will be an exciting new twist on the poses. It makes a great gift!

Such fun! My toddler and I love this book, in fact, it's hard to tally which of us has asked to read it more often.

A few of my favorite things (about this book):

- Creative illustrations: There is a brilliant texture and complexity to the illustrations in the book. Newspaper print peaks out behind wallpaper and clouds. And the rich colors and patterns create a wonderful sense of calm throughout the story.

- An active read: My 3 1/2 year old asks for the yoga mat so we can do all the poses while we read the story. He loves to try his own version of the poses too and invents his own names for the new positions.

- Helpful details: Included in extra pages are a full list of the yoga poses used in the story and a Parent-Teacher Guide with tips on how to help a child enjoy yoga safely.

Rachel's Day in the Garden is a new favorite in our household and I'm sure it will be in any household with young yogi.

My toddler and I loved this book! It was fantastic that Giselle takes you on a trip around the world one animal at a time. We had so much fun taking turns doing the different poses. It wound up being a fun activity to do before bed, and something a little different from just reading a book like we usually do.

I have been curious about us trying yoga together for awhile, so this was the perfect option to introduce it in a child friendly way. The illustrations were well done and clear for us both to see what the poses were and what animals were represented. It seemed to work out any extra energy that we had. As a parent, I appreciated that there was a list of the kids yoga poses after the story. There was also a lot of great tips for getting the most out of our yoga experience.

I can see this becoming a regular routine for us. I would recommend this for anyone with young children.

Spring is a wonderful time to watch the world renew and grow new life. In this book, Rachel enjoys the outdoors in her own special way- through yoga! Incorporating some fairly basic yoga poses, Rachel and her dog Sammy enjoy the fresh spring air around them. Key words for each pose help link the poses to the story. Rachel can help people all over enjoy the beautiful spring world and yoga.

This was a very cute book. I love the bright colors and happy looking pictures. Rachel and her dog take a quick tour of the world outside and truly enjoy spring. I love the idea of incorporating yoga poses into the story as well. It's a fun way to really get kids (and even adults) into the book. This book just made me feel happy. I think it's a beautiful way to enjoy getting to know nature in new and fun ways!
