After Reading this book, I had mixed feelings. I really liked that the author set the same story from two points of view. One side of the book started from the pup's point of view on wanting a little boy owner and the other side of the book was from the boy's point of view who wanted a puppy. The writing included a lot of repetition, such as; "So Jet ran away..", with the start of each new problem for the young pup. I didn't like some of the wording within the story. As the story seems to be for the age of 1st and 2nd grade, I believe that "Mister Brumblepaster, who beat him and kicked him" could be too intense of an image for this age group. This story is about the relationship between a dog and a young boy. The boy begged his parents for a dog and finally his parents surprised him with a puppy. The illustrations throughout the book were very colorful and keep the reader's attention.
