Chemistry is a matter of putting formulas together so it is no surprise that Ben Hart, a chemistry teacher, turns amateur detective after being suspended from teaching. There are explosions, drugs, gambling, and affairs to investigate all while trying to solve a murder. Author Scoot wants you to read the book to discover if Ben is a better teacher or investigator. It is a good start for a cozy mystery series that features a male lead.

Coming from a debut author, this was actually a very good mystery and suspense and at time humorous novel. You never know what will happen thus it will keep you reading and it was easy to relate to Ben Hart and his lady love Rosemary Cobb. I did not expect the ending, it was actually very emotional something, again, I did not expect. Itn also set-up what mioght happen in book 2 and I'm excited to read the next one. Kudos to Mr. Scott.

Death Before Swine by V. K. Scott was a great mystery and I can't wait for Book 2. It kept you wondering who did it. It was clever how the author worked in swine (pig). It was a novel that kept your interested and kept moving.
Ben Hart is the main character and he is a chemistry teacher who gets fired and falls into the job of sleuth. The murder happened right at the school where he was a teacher. The author brings in suspects and does not reveal that they are innocent and have alibis right away. Then he pulls the rug right from under you and who you thought did it, did not do it. I was surprised by the ending. Good job, keep it up. This is a must read.… (plus d'informations)

I found this book to be a quick, easy, and enjoyable read. Ben Hart is trying to make it as a high school teacher in his home town when the football coach is killed. Things quickly turn south and he is fired from his position. His only hope is to find the killer. There are quite a fit twists and turns that keep the book interesting. Worth taking a chance.
