Peter Schechter

Peter Schechter’s Point of Entry makes good use of his background in international politics and relations. I highly enjoyed his detailed use of the culture of politics as well as the beauty of places he has certainly visited on his travels.

Point of Entry is thought provoking without becoming a heavy read. It's subject matter is timely without overt references to specific events. Mr. Schechter also manages to put a woman in power in a country where such a thing is highly unlikely. Nice touch. A hopeful thing for women everywhere who would like to see what effect a nurturing hand would have on the course of politics.

At times John Stockman is difficult to like yet his warmth shines through in his interactions with the women in his life. In the end I was very pleased when his humanity overcame his dutiful demeanor and he went against all protocol and requested a dinner meeting with the very earthy Columbian leader.
