Eric Salzman was born in Queens, New York on September 8, 1933. He received a bachelor's degree from Columbia College in 1954 and a master of fine arts degree from Princeton University in 1956. He became a music critic for several publications including The New York Times, The New York Herald afficher plus Tribune, and Stereo Review. He was a champion of music theater and a composer. His works included The Nude Paper Sermon, The True Last Words of Dutch Schultz, Strike Up the Band!, Stauf, and Jukebox in the Tavern of Love. He wrote several books including 20th-Century Music: An Introduction. He died from cardiac arrest on November 12, 2017 at the age of 84. (Bowker Author Biography) afficher moins
