Courte biographie
Although I come from a line of writers, my first love has always been the theatre. When I was a kid, I spent a lot of time creating characters and plots for my little brother and sister to act out. (They loved it! Really. I promise.) I have a degree in theatre and I've spent most of my career up to this point teaching acting as well as directing plays and musicals. I didn't really learn to love writing until I realized how similar it is. When I write, I get to be the playwright, set designer, costume designer, lighting and sound designer, and director all rolled into one.

As a reader, I've always been drawn to the strange and the spooky. During my young adult years, I devoured books by Daphne du Maurier, Shirley Jackson, Lois Duncan, and Stephen King. But my very first creepy story experience, the one that really made me fall in love with reading about things that go bump in the night, was The Ghost Next Door by Wylly Folk St. John. Just looking at the cover--a ghost child standing in the moonlight at the edge of a lake--gave me she shivers. And I LOVED it.

Now, as a writer, I enjoy creating dark, tangled, mysterious stories that exist in the in-between spaces where magic feels most possible. I especially love writing for young adult readers because those years between childhood and adulthood are full of so much possibility...and so many big fears and questions. Literally anything can happen!

I currently live in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with my teenage son and a very cowardly doberman named Shipley. When I'm not working in the theatre or writing, you're likely to find me listening to true crime podcasts, taking pictures of alligators, eating tacos, or planning a trip to Walt Disney World.

Celeste and Bailey were teenage girls who were murdered 20 years ago in the small Florida town of Mount Orange. Trulee has spent her whole life hearing about the murders and feeling haunted by them; however, the gruesome crime has remained unsolved. Rio, a beautiful girl and fellow free diver arrives in town determined to solve the murders. Trulee feels immediately drawn to Rio and they team up to try to figure out what happened all those years ago.
As they dig deeper in to the mystery, Trulee and Rio realize someone is watching them and that they are in danger. They also cannot deny the growing connection between them.
One Last Breath is a highly suspenseful thriller with multiple twists and turns and queer rep. The setting of a beautiful Florida spring was atmospheric and fascinating, as were the free diving aspects of the story. I ended up researching more about the Florida freshwater springs and learned that they are threatened ecosystems. One Last Breath is a stay-up-all-night compelling, unpredictable YA thriller. The eye-catching, suspenseful book cover of ONE LAST BREATH immediately grabbed my attention; and when I realized that the author is Ginny Myers Sain, then this thriller is a must read for me!

As the 20th anniversary of the gruesome murder of best friends Bailey and Celeste approaches Mount Orange Florida, its downtown dedication ceremony attracts quite a throng of people, including an out-of-town stranger, Rio.

In view of the anniversary, Trulee, who always seems to be haunted by this dark, harrowing decades old murder, finds herself especially eager to find out the gruesome truth of these young girls’ untimely death.

As Trulee and Rio dig deeper into this dark and tragic past, they put their lives in great jeopardy because someone is watching and waiting for them!

ONE LAST BREATH is an unputdownable thriller with some supernatural elements, and the suspenseful twists and turns have kept me on the edge of my seat till the end!

Grey‘s best friend disappeared from her hometown, La Cachette, a bayou backwater that is the refuge of an enclave of psychics. Each character had a unique psychic power. Grey‘s return the summer after Elora‘s disappearance is welcome but also fraught with mystery and grief. Sain brings the town and its secretive denizens vividly to life, and I couldn‘t put it down until the mystery was revealed.

* I got this book for review for my honest thoughts*

I really loved this eerie and creepy mystery with supernatural twist. I really loved the small town and the focus on a group of kids that all of abilities in sense. I also loved the eerie elements of the story. It was really quick read, but one where i questioned just about everything. It does deal with harder topics towards the end, but it also is a really prefect thriller for late summer early fall.. I will def read more by this author in the future.… (plus d'informations)
