There are a lot of tips in this book but what I found especially interesting was how it helps you think about the differences between goals and intention for your race. Goals are more number based but intention is how do you want to feel and what will your philosophy be on race day. Do you want to celebrate your race, do you want to race with courage, do you want to run with gratitude. It's sappy....but I've found over the years that it is also important.

The book helps you think about what is in and out of your control and how to react to things. Thinking about all the possibilities and coming up with plans to deal with them help make race day go better.

There is also a bunch of practical stuff about training plans, travel and food plans and how to build mental strength.

I just really liked this different spin about "racing" and not about training exactly. A worthwhile addition to my running library for sure.

This is a great book to take with you while traveling. The practices are broken down into small sections that you put together however you want to make a short or long practice. Easily customizable to suit your needs or you can do one of the short or long form practice that is already laid out for you. The last section gives you a full couple of weeks of how to lay out your practices depending on how often you do yoga (every day, every other day, twice a week.
