An excellent guide to wildflowers. Very well illustrated, with hundreds of illustrations, I haven't been stumped on a flower yet.

You can't get any better than this Peterson Field Guide on birds. It is chock-full of professional, colored drawings and all the info you need to know about these birds. My mother and I were able to identify Roseate Spoonbill's a few years back, around 2018, that showed up on Cow Bayou here in Southeast Texas for the first time ever. I grew up there and my parent's have lived there since 1979.

A massive book, in number of pages, dimensions, content, photographs maps and paintings, a veritable encyclopedia of the many hundreds of threatened and vulnerable birds and their habitats the world over. It makes for rather grim reading, however, especially the gruesome details of how modern man (mainly Europeans) have slaughtered birds in the millions, bringing many of the most prolific and numerous to extinction in the last 500 years or less. The ecological accounts (divided by biomes) are a bit elementary and pitched to a school level, which of course does not gainsay the wealth of site-specific information and photographs. Definitely a milestone, a classic publication, and a great addition to the bird lover's collection.… (plus d'informations)

The easiest birding book to use I have found. I have two copies, one I keep my life list in.
