I have done many questionable things in my life and picking up then reading ‘Goat Milk Soap Making at Home: How to Make Healthy, Natural Soap with Goat Milk - Unique Recipes for Cold Process and Melt and Pour Goat Milk Soaps’ (what is with the long title?!) is high up there on the list.

It was unexpected… Unexpectedly good.

With the great price of $0.00—this was an accidental purchase I am not ashamed to admit (well… maybe a little…?) and what the heck, it’s short and brief so what is the harm in diving in? You never know when you’re going to run into a goat and need… milk products!

All jokes aside, I was surprised by the easy-going style of the authors writing. It was not a complete info dump because if it was all that, I would much rather head over to Google for a step by step how to. I also enjoyed how the author included a personal (and of course heartwarming) tale of how their Grandpa Ed made it known that goat milk can be turned into soap and how it could do wonders on anyone’s skin hence the author ventured in the expansion of their goat milk soap business.

In this reference book, the author explains the history of goat milk and how it came to be as well as sharing the benefits which was quite interesting because I have never known goat milk can be used as a product to improve the look and feel of your skin. It’s something to look into if you’re trying to steer away from the typical oils, creams, and lotions that are often advertised and over scented. Goat milk is less allergenic which is a plus for me since I have very sensitive skin and I often have to be careful of what I use to prevent any breakouts.

It was an overall informative read and with the great ingredients and benefits of use, I will most certainly look into using goat milk soap in the very near future.
