I am BIASED because I love Buffy. Despite some comics that made me give the series the side eye, this was good, LONG but good. It's a little history book by Willow.

It kind of chronicles all 7 seasons which is awesome.

Vampire Crush was.. A complex read for me, I loved the romance in it (James & Sophie), and the friendship (Violet & Sophie). But I didn't really liked the hole idea.. And the ending annoyed me evr so slightly, I mean was I the only one wondering if the fact that she was different really meant she was the girl ? And parts of the storyline were --in my opinion-- tres predictable. Like I thought the fact that she would be the girl with the star-shaped birth-mark (or, I guess... Freckles?) was, yeah, predictable; especially when it took so long for her to strip down to her bikini.. A little obvious maybe?

Maybe it was just me, but the only parts I found appealing were James, Violet..
.. And the whale pyjamas (: xxx

“Not another vampire book!” was the first thing I thought of when I heard about Vampire Crush, but, a coworker suggested it and I decided to go out on a limb and read it. I absolutely enjoyed it! A.M. Robinson makes you cringe and laugh out loud.

Sophie McGee is a wonderful protagonist. She’s funny, strong, with a mind of her own and a go-get-em attitude that is refreshing in paranormal protagonists. When her childhood friend and tormentor, James Hallowell, moves back into the neighbourhood with a few suspicious looking characters, Sophie is the only one not taken by their charm and determined to get to the bottom of their creepiness.

I absolutely enjoyed this story, it’s perfectly paced, filled with moments of laughter and touched with just enough romance to make you swoon but not puke. And, there is no freaky love triangle! Let us rejoice! A.M. Robinson’s writing style sucks you into the story and keeps you turning the pages, I almost felt like I was there witnessing everything through Sophie’s eyes.

Vampire Crush is a surprisingly refreshing addition to the dreary look-a-likes on the YA Paranormal bookshelf.
