I have a lot of respect for Kay Robertson for standing by her man until he decided to pull himself together and follow God and become the man he was meant to be. And I respect her for doing all she does to hold the family together with good food and family gatherings. That’s hard work!

I purchased this book at full price back in 2013 from Amazon. The first recipe I tried was her “Nutty Good Oatmeal Cookies” (p. 78), the page is still dog-eared, and I haven’t made a different cookie ever since. My grandies just love them and so do I…except I prefer walnuts over pecans in my cookies.

This is a wonderful cookbook with great family photos and stories and remarks on each recipe by the one who created and presented the recipe, or by the family member who simply grew up loving it.

RECIPES TESTED

- Nutty Good Oatmeal Cookies - p. 78 (The best ever! These are the only cookies I have made now for the past 9 years. I use walnuts instead of pecans. All my grandies LOVE them!)

- Phil’s Jambalaya - p. 119 ( Good flavor, but not Cajun jambalaya. Southwest Louisiana jambalaya must be different than our northern Yankee neighbors. Sorry Phil, but I like mine better.)

I’m not done with this cookbook!

This book covers many of the common events found in gymnastics and the various strengths and abilities needed for each gymnastic event. At the end of the book it covers common vocabulary terms and definitions for the sport of gymnastics. This is a positive and fun book for individual students interested in pursuing gymnastics as a form of fitness and fun activity.

Would have loved to meet Si's wife! Overall this book was a little too sugary for me, but I enjoyed hearing Lisa's voice as well as the others'.

The women of the Robertson family tell how they met their husband's, the trials they've endured, and the strength they all have: through God, His Word, and each other. There were a few endearing stories, but compared to unPhiltered, this book just didn't do anything for me.
