This is just. Fucking. Awful.
The backgrounds of the panels are actually quite lovely. But the actual characters look like they were tossed in with a fairly thick, coloured Sharpie. They're deplorable. I think he was going for Ben Templesmith, but instead, he ends up with art from Mrs. Grabowski's Grade Two art class. And what's worse? This guy studied under Walt Simonson.
But what's worse is the utter lack of realism in the story from any angle. Police procedure. Logic. Believability.
And to top it all off, I don't think there's a single character who isn't completely over-the-top emoting. No one is just there. EVERYONE IS ANGRY AND TELLING ABOUT IT. I've never seen a more likely set of characters deserving a Valium clinical trial.
Now, I do like the band Life of Agony, but I'm really hoping, in future Robert just sticks with that, and keeps the hell away from graphic novels any more.… (plus d'informations)
