'down the Plains' par Rhea Côté Robbins
This is the book Wednesday's Child should have been. While this is much a tale of woe, this does have some humor - subtle at times. This is reminiscent of some of the existential writings of Camus, Sartre, or De Beavoir, but doesn't rise to the level of great literature because of the focus on local color. Still many of the observations are profound in their insight and nuanced connections. I enjoyed this book on many levels.
