Elisabeth Ross is a grade school teacher. Her son attends the same school. On one fateful day, a gunman kills and wounds several children, including Elisabeth’s son. She stops working to attend to his recovery. She also begins to become outraged at men in power, who offer their usual “thoughts & prayers, along with the demand for more guns. She finally decides to send a powerful message by committing her own violent action, posting the act on social media with the tag name “Lilith”. Women begin to take up arms, across the country.

The writing is solid and the author knows how to ramp up the suspense. I just had a hard time with the idea of using violence and killing as a means of protest. I am sure the author intended for the reader to be conflicted by this, but it just didn’t sit well with me.
