Written in 1942, this book is obsolete as a practical guide. Lifeboat technology, naval architecture, telecommunications, even first aid guidelines are much different nowadays. It is a useful introduction (or reminder) to the problems presented by an unplanned ocean voyage in a small craft.
This book also makes an excellent Bon Voyage gift for family and friends who go on an ocean cruise without you.
