This book would be good for primary students. This book is "Watch Me" by Doyin Richards, illustrated by Joe Cepeda, and published in 2021. This book is about a young boy from West Africa and immigrated to the United States to follow his dreams. He did good in school, made friends, and embraced his new home while also missing his home in Africa. He got made fun of, was told he couldn't do it, and succeeded despite what people said. He said "watch me" when people told him he couldn't do it. I think this is a good book to teach kids about immigration, but also has a good lesson that you can do anything you set your mind to despite what other people might say.… (plus d'informations)

I would use this for primary. This book is about family from west Africa and a boy named Joe went to america and was made fun of but then became a doctor. I would use this book to show diversity in being able to do whatever you put you rmind to.

This book is good for a primary age group. It describes a boy from Sierra Leone facing adversity to come to American and become a doctor. As inspirational as it sounds, it's a fairly simple book without a ton of depth to it. I might have it in my classroom, but it certainly wouldn't be a priority. It could be used to teach about racism and encourage students to push back against difficulty.

This antiracist children’s story is told, delightfully and lovingly, from the dog’s point of view. Read my full review here.

Publication is expected November 8.
