Its about a mom and her son leaving town and going to another. How the kid is learning how to say goodbye. And missing the memories of the town.

A boy and his mother are moving first thing in the morning. When he wakes up he and sees snow. He realizes then how he is going to say goodbye everybody there on Griffith Street.

In my opinion this is a good book for multiple reasons. First, I enjoy the descriptive language used throughout the text. For example, when the author states "Within minutes the hissing and crackling flames reached the homestead. Showers of sparks sailed over the fireguard" as a reader, I can both hear and picture the scene of a horrific wild fire. Another reason I believe this is a good book, is due to its rising action within the plot. After briefing our knowledge of prairie fires, the main character is out playing when he spots a cloud of black smoke. Next, the author constructs a series of events leading up to the fire encountering their home. For example, first the father must release the ox's, prepare the house, and load the rain water all while the fire is quickly approaching. At the end of the fire, it is the young boy who thrives in keeping his home safe. Therefore, the main message in the story is that you are never to young to give a helping hand during someones time of need.… (plus d'informations)

This book is about a girl who moves to a new town with her mother who is a piano teacher. At first, no one likes the new girl and she dosen't have any friends. After her piano recital, she makes friends.
