A short history of the illustrious corps who handed out violent colonialism all over France's empire. The book tends to the sensational, but gets the names and dates right.

And so we come to the end of Amanda's espionage filled adventures with one last exploit in post WWII Berlin, newly divided and full of double agents, perverted twins, and familiar faces, especially from the second book in the series, Resort to War.

I'm going to miss reading these, as I've thoroughly enjoyed hunting them down and reading them in order over the past several years. Highly recommended for fans of old school smut with quite a bit of espionage thrown in for good measure. Commander Amanda heads to Franco-ruled Spain in her fourth adventure, seeking out her arch nemesis, Father Grotius, the man responsible for her torture in some of her previous adventures. Once there she navigates through the underworld of Madrid, filled with ex-nazis, whip happy nuns, and lustful lesbian ambassadors.

Revelli keeps the plot moving briskly with lots of twists and turns and his portrait of Madrid under Franco is particularly vivid. Highly recommended.
